This site is expected to be fully functional about the end of this month. At the time of writing we have two products available. New products will be added over the month. If you find a problem with the site please let me know so that we can fix it.

Meanwhile working on getting access to some IM tools and resources, depends how good a deal I can negotiate as to how this will be delivered.

Lastly the holiday season here is coming to an end. Schools are all starting the new academic year. Business is starting to settle down again into its own routine. I need to get back into the swing again.

How Effective Is List Segmentation?

Follow on from last post, where we introduced the concept of list segmentation.Lets have a look at how effective list segmentation is?

How Effective Is List Segmentation?

If you want to multiply your email marketing conversions you need to get more targeted subscribers, plus send more targeted information to them based on who they are and how they got on your list. The best way to do that is to use email marketing segmentation methods.

Quote:

According to the Direct Marketing Association, almost 80 percent of return on investment comes from, segmented, targeted, and triggered campaigns.

Eighty percent. This is a very big number in terms of email marketing statistics. It’s important not to undervalue the meaning of this. This means that if you haven’t set up tagging, behavioural triggers, and other ways to segment your audience you can improve your conversions many times over just by doing this.

Just by doing something that you can automate you can make a huge difference in your return on investment. In other words, you can put this process on autopilot and see a great improvement in your email marketing results simply by using list segmentation.

Of course, it’s imperative that you understand the best ways to segment your audience before you do it. The best way to figure this out is to look at your customer buying cycle. Seek to segment your list members based on where they are in the cycle. You can do this using behavioural triggers and tags. Only segment in other ways when you know exactly why you’re doing it.

Another stat, this one from Campaign Monitor, states that each dollar spent on email marketing generates 38 dollars in return on investment. This is tremendous. This puts email marketing solidly in the lead for return on investment above all other marketing categories. No matter what anyone says, the money is still in the list.

Make use of your autoresponder

But, you can get a lot more money out of your list if you’re using basic and sound segmenting. Most autoresponder software like your Aweber or Get Response already offer the native the ability to set up segmentation of some kind. This will include tagging, or the ability to create sublists that will enhance your marketing efforts.

When you consider that a little more than 1/3 of online marketers aren’t segmenting their lists. That leave a lot of possibilities for you to command the marketplace by putting segmenting at the top of your priority list. Thankfully, with today’s technology, you can add segmentation in later for your old school list that will do wonders for your return on investment.

Round up

List segmentation is extremely effective because people like to feel important. They like to open an email and feel as if you can read their mind. If you set up different email series to run based on your customer’s behaviour and where they are in the buying cycle they will respond in amazing ways. So, yes, the answer is that list segmentation is very effective and every single person who has an email list should develop some sort of segmentation to help improve conversions.

I will continue with the subject of list segmenting next time, until then….

Brian

List Segmentation, what is it about?

Hi Brian here again, how are you doing? I have had some queries about the topic of segmentation, people have been asking is it something I should be doing? How do I go about it? What is it, what’s involved? So here we go with an introduction.

What Is meant by ‘List Segmentation’?

Lets’s get started.

First a definition

Segmentation means to break up something into smaller pieces or elements.

For email lists this means:

This means categorising, or breaking it up into different groupings so that you only address particular groups for better responses and conversions.

The reason is that you can tailor your email series to that one type of person on your list. It’s very effective because people like reading messages that make them feel special, and addressing their interests

Let’s look at some examples

Demographics This is a typical way to segment your audience, but it might not be the type of segmentation that you need. For example, it might not matter if your audience is male or female for your product or service.

By Location Sometimes, you may want to segment by location so that you can market something to them based on where they are in their own language if you’re running an international business.

Social Media Connections Segmenting list members based on how you found them via social media is a great way to break up your list. You can make some assumptions about people who sign up via social media that are different which means you can try marketing to them differently.

Behaviour This is the best way to segment your list. When you segment your list based on list member behaviour you’ll have different lists based on the actions your audience takes. For example, if they downloaded your report about time management they will go on a list for people who downloaded that report. If they then buy something you’re promoting to that list, you’ll move them to yet another list.

Buying Cycle Another way to segment is based on where they are in their buying cycle. All your customers have a buying cycle. Some may have been curious for more information, some might have downloaded a freebie, or they may have purchased something.

Every Contact is Unique. If you can start thinking about your list members as individuals you’ll find it easier to market to them. You’ll be able to know just the right message to send them at any stage of their buying cycle.
Responsive List Members Another way is to separate them by how responsive they are. Do they open your emails? Do they click through to learn more? You can address them differently if you know they’re reading and put different subject lines if you know they’re not reading.

List segmentation is an important part of list building. You may need to try different methods to segment your list based on surveys, the freebie they download, the items they choose to purchase, how they interact with you on social media and more. That’s the great thing about email marketing. You can test numerous ideas without spending a lot of money or time setting it up.

Until next time….

Just received a kick in the pants, signed up for this year.

Need some motivation to get you working?

Hi, it has been a while now since I posted on this blog. I know I should not have gone quiet for so long, but had a few personal problems to sort out as well as family issues. I just needed a kick in the pants, read on to find out more.

I quit my freelance working as I was getting rather fed up with all the driving and having to stay away from home. Then my mother’s health deteriated further, requiring her to go into a nursing home, and the resulting costs.

She passed away peacefully the end of August, together with my sister we have been sorting out her affairs and making arrangements for the funeral next week.

Ii is about 125 miles to where mum and my sisters live, so it can make things difficult doing the arrangements and clearing her old place.

What form was the kick in the pants?

I signed up for the Quick Start Challenge 2018. This is what I needed to get me going again.

The first webinar was middle of last week, right in the thick of it. It is going to be difficult for me for the first two weeks, but it will give me the inspiration and motivation to get things moving.

This first week set up the basis of what we are going to be doing

Week 1: Foundation

We laid the foundation for essentially, a long term successful business. How to establish yourself online quickly. This is valid whether you are a complete newbie or been trying for several months/years.

The first thing is to create a WordPress blog, and their is a full set of video training on WordPress. Full details from installation through correct setup and even how to write a blog post.

Week 2:

Is going to be all about list building

Week 3:

How to set up automated income generation

Week 4:

One word for this TRAFFIC, several strategies covered.

Have to go now, until next time…..

Leave a comment below……thanks

P.S. If you are wondering about the picture? It is the wedding party after the wedding ceremony in Baghdad, Iraq at the air force base in 1952.

3 Effective & Realistic Tactics against Buyer Objections

3 Tips that ban customer buying objections

Just a quick post this time, straight into it.

There are a lot of excuses floating around about why people don’t buy. Maybe you’ve heard some of them: it’s too expensive, it’s not at the top of my “must have” list right now, or even when a deals too good to be true… it’s too good to be true. Customer objections are more easily overcome than you might imagine. Let’s take a look at 3 simple ways to wipe out those objections.

1. It costs too much.

Don’t be fooled! Most of your customers can get the money to buy the product… it’s not a matter of having enough. Let’s face it… what they’re really saying is that they can get a better deal somewhere else, or a deal that gives them a better value for their buck.

Now, don’t give in to the temptation to drop your prices to “rock bottom” just because you hear them say it’s too expensive. There are ways to wipe out these objections without wiping out your profits!

Make it look like a better deal. I mean, take a really good look at your product. How can you increase the perceived value? Maybe you can add a manual, a CD, or a downloadable book full of information about the product. Let them think they are getting more for their buck, and the deal seems a lot sweeter to them.

Think about this… we all expect to pay more when we visit a specialist. Sure, Wal-Mart is great if we’re looking for a generic product, but when we want something from someone who knows what they’re talking about we head for a market “specialist”… and expect to pay a little more as part of the deal.

How can you become a specialist who demands respect, and can get away with slightly higher prices?
•Find niches within your market to address. Hey, if you look closely you’ll discover groups within your market that stand out… business men and women, young mothers, retirees, etc.

•Dig in, do a little research and figure out exactly how your product relates to the special needs of these niche groups.

•Speak to them as someone in the know. Revise your sales materials to address the specific needs of each group. Let them know you understand what they want and need, and watch your profits skyrocket.

Work on becoming an authority within your chosen niche.

2. I Have More Important Things To Get Right Now.

Yeah, buying now doesn’t seem too important until… the deal’s too sweet to pass up, and you have to get it today to get the deal.

What I’m talking about is banning the option of procrastination. Really what your customer is saying is … I have no reason to buy today. Make the deal irresistible, and put a deadline on it. It’ll spur them into making the purchase a priority, NOW.

Count down timers, on the page or in the email are effective here.

3. I’m Skeptical… It’s Too Good To Be True.

Most customers have been burnt by deals that seem too good to be true… they ended up costing more than they were worth. The only way you’ll ever overcome the skepticism is to build a relationship of trust.

Unconditional money back guarantees eliminate the risk of loss, and show the customer that you are truly concerned with their satisfaction.

Let testimonials speak for you. Evidence that you’ve delivered and gained customer satisfaction in the past goes a long way toward banning customer fears.

Be available. Customers feel like everything is okay if they can pick up the phone or send an email and get quick answers to their questions.

It really doesn’t take a lot of rocket science to counter the objections and make good customers. These 3 tips will get you off to a good start.

Into the New Year: Off to a good start?

Well the New Year has started,

but not so good so far.

Hi, and welcome back for the New Year. We have not had a very good start to this year so far. My wife lost her nearest sister just as the work on the kitchen started, the funeral was set for soon after and did not allow us time to make arrangements to get the necessary visa to travel. We were not able to go.

As the building work was completed and I had also finished the decorating I decided time was for a visit to my mum. On the day of travel my sister informed me that my mum had had a fall, her condition was not clear but a GP was supposed to be seeing her. Had to travel quickly. Fortunately she was just bruised, left arm and buttocks, but it had been a heavy fall.

Progress, strategy and utility

It is no good mopping about, have to get the covers off and back into it.

Utility - clear the wraps
Improved kitchen under warps

Remember the Quick Start Challenge (QSC)?

Have to get the sleeves rolled up and back into it.

Remember what it was all about?

That is correct, getting your business up and running. So it is back to basics, get grafting.

Revisit your strategy.

Here are five strategies that have proven themselves effective over and over again.

Strategy #1 – Search Engine Optimisation
One of the best internet marketing strategies to help you market your product or services is search engine optimisation. This marketing strategy focuses on optimising your site to be best found by popular search engines such as Yahoo and Google. Before you can make this strategy effective, it is important that you understand how search engine optimisation works. If you are unfamiliar with this concept, it may be best to hire someone to help you with this type of marketing.

Strategy #2 – Newsletters
Another internet marketing strategy that has proven to be successful is e-newsletter marketing. This type of marketing works by allowing site visitors to sign up for your emails. Then, periodically you can then send out newsletters updating them on your business and making special offers to draw them back to your site. If you choose to use this strategy it is important that you only send these newsletters to those who sign up for them.

Strategy #3 – Pay Per Click Ads
A very popular form of internet marketing is using pay per click ads, which are both easy to use and cost-effective as well. You can sign up with various search engines to have your ad show up as a result for specific keywords and you will only have to pay if people click on your site. Many have found this internet marketing strategy to be one of the most effective strategies available. Limitations on spend can be set initially, scaling up as and when the strategy proves successful.

Strategy #4 – Link Exchanging
A newer internet marketing strategy is link exchanging. This strategy basically works by having various websites exchange links. You can ask another site to provide a link to your site, and in return you will put a link to their site on yours. This works to be mutually beneficial for both businesses, and while it provides more web traffic, it can also help increase rank on search engines as well.

Strategy #5 – Web Banners
Web banners are another type of internet marketing strategy that has been proven to be very effective. This strategy requires purchasing space on other websites such as e-zines or other sites that may be relevant to your business. In the space you purchase your ad will appear and you will benefit from the traffic of that site being interested in what you have to offer.

Conclusion

Each of these internet marketing strategies have proven to be great strategies that brought results for other people. When choosing which of these strategies to use, be sure that you pick strategies that fit the nature of your business. There are many methods of internet marketing, but if you are new to the business, often using the tried and true methods can bring the best results.

The final choice may depend on what budget you have available.
